La ricerca scientifica e l’innovazione sono i principali motori di sviluppo delle società contemporanee. Entrambe stanno evolvendosi con una forte accelerazione. Si parla di un aumento nel numero di ricercatori di oltre il 50 per cento negli ultimi vent’anni e di un numero di riviste specializzate che supera le 15 mila.
L’Associazione ERMES, in qualità di organo tecnico-scientifico autonomo, svolge funzioni di ricerca, sperimentazione, controllo, consulenza, documentazione e formazione nell’ambito del settore biomedico.
